German develops precise communication skills and is valuable for engineering, science, and business-related careers. There is a strong focus on accuracy, structure, and detailed expression.
French is spoken across several continents and supports careers in travel, diplomacy, fashion, and hospitality with a strong emphasis on everyday communication and exploration of French-speaking cultures worldwide.
Italian combines language learning while exploring culture, travel, food, and traditions. Build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Mandarin will help you to develop communication skills in Mandarin, focusing on speaking, listening, and basic characters whilst learning about Chinese culture and traditions.
Question Paper: Reading and Writing (50% of overall grade): An external exam assessing understanding of written Spanish texts and the ability to produce written Spanish. Pupils respond to reading passages in English and complete a writing task in Spanish.

Assignment (40% of overall grade): An externally assessed research assignment. Pupils investigate a travel or tourism-related topic, analyse information and present findings. The assignment assesses research skills, application of course knowledge, analysis, evaluation and communication.
