In Business & Enterprise, you will explore different global companies and organisations and find out how they’re structured, operated and how they make money. You will have the chance to put what you learn into practise through a range of creative activities and look at how businesses consider profits, their customers and the environment. You will participate in a range of enterprise projects where you combine your theory learning with real life scenarios to develop your decision making and management skills. These projects will help you develop your knowledge and understanding of how businesses function and provide services to their customers, as well as how to manage a successful one. You will develop skills for learning life and work that will prepare you with the knowledge of what it takes to be part of a successful organisation and perhaps operate your own in the future!
Creative Thinking
Unlock your imagination with the Daydream Believers Creative Thinking course! This fun and inspiring course encourages independence by giving you the freedom to explore ideas, think outside the box and solve problems creatively. Whether you’re passionate about art, technology or simply want to learn how to turn everyday challenges into opportunities, this course is for you. Through hands-on practical activities and exciting out of this world projects, you’ll build confidence, collaborate with others and discover the power of creativity in shaping your future. Don’t just dream big - learn how to bring those dreams to life!
Design & Manufacture
You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and materials, and awareness of the impact of design and manufacturing technologies on our environment and society. You will learn to use your creativity to devise design solutions to a range of problems, before using a variety of tools, equipment, software and materials to create your solutions. You’ll use physical and virtual modelling techniques to explore simple and complex solutions, and learn to evaluate your ideas to see if you’ve achieved your goal.
Graphic Communication
Graphic Communication will introduce you to the fast changing ways in which we present, share and understand information. You will be encouraged to use your creativity and imagination as you use a wide range of computer software and digital media, as well as technology, including laser cutters, 3D printing, vinyl cutting and sublimation printing to produce your work. You will learn to create exciting graphic designs and use them to share information whilst developing skills in sketching, illustration and using desktop publishing software. You will explore how to create and share technical information used in engineering and construction by building skills in 3D CAD modelling. Graphic Communication is the perfect balance of creative and technical skill, and will teach you skills for creative and digital media industries, as well as a huge range of STEM careers.
Practical Woodworking
Practical Woodwork explores traditional methods of workshop manufacturing, but with a big focus on preparing you for the modern world of construction, engineering and careers in the built environment. You will learn to work with a range of materials, tools and machinery, but also look at modern manufacturing methods. You will learn to carefully plan and organise activities and will work to develop good skills in numeracy to use in the world of work by learning to measure and mark out materials accurately. Safe working practice and working sustainably are important to all manufacturing industries, so you will learn about the importance of managing yourself and others as well as caring for our natural environment. Learning in both the workshop and classroom setting is designed to give you the chance to solve problems and learn skills that will help you prepare for a whole range of STEM careers, not just those on a building site.
