Business Education helps learners understand how businesses operate and how decisions affect customers, employees, and the wider economy. It develops knowledge of the business world alongside enterprise and employability skills.
Craft, Design and Technology combines creativity, practical skills, and problem-solving. Learners design and make products while developing knowledge of materials, tools, and manufacturing processes.
Question Paper (60% of overall grade): An external exam assessing knowledge and understanding of business in different contexts. Pupils answer structured and extended-response questions covering business environments, marketing, operations, finance and human resources. The paper assesses application of knowledge, analysis and evaluation.
Assignment (40% of overall grade): An externally assessed research assignment. Pupils investigate a business issue, analyse information and present conclusions and recommendations, demonstrating understanding of business concepts and decision-making.
Question Paper (60% of overall grade): An external exam assessing deeper understanding of business theory and practice. Pupils analyse business scenarios and evaluate decisions across marketing, operations, finance and human resources, using appropriate terminology and justification.
Assignment (40% of overall grade): An externally assessed research assignment. Pupils apply business theories to a real or simulated business context, analyse data and evaluate options, demonstrating higher-order thinking and communication skills.
Question Paper (50% of overall grade): An external exam assessing understanding of graphic communication principles. Pupils answer questions on sketching, technical drawing, CAD, visual literacy, and interpreting graphic information.
Assignment (50% of overall grade): An externally assessed practical project. Pupils produce a range of graphic work using sketching and CAD to communicate design ideas effectively, supported by brief annotations and evaluation.
Question Paper (40% of overall grade): An external exam assessing technical and analytical understanding of graphic communication. Pupils interpret and analyse drawings, apply knowledge of standards and conventions, and demonstrate visual literacy.
Assignment (60% of overall grade): An externally assessed practical assignment. Pupils create detailed graphic solutions using a range of techniques, including CAD, demonstrating accuracy, creativity and effective communication.
Project (70% of overall grade): An externally assessed extended graphic project. Pupils independently plan and produce a complex graphic solution, demonstrating advanced CAD skills, technical accuracy and design decision-making.
Question Paper (30% of overall grade): An external exam assessing advanced understanding of graphic communication theory, visual communication and professional standards.
Question Paper (50% of overall grade): An external exam assessing knowledge and understanding of design processes, materials, manufacturing techniques, sustainability and commercial production.
Assignment (50% of overall grade): An externally assessed design-and-make project. Pupils investigate a design brief, develop ideas, produce a manufactured solution and evaluate the outcome.
Question Paper (40% of overall grade): An external exam assessing deeper understanding of design theory, materials science, manufacturing processes and commercial considerations.
Assignment (60% of overall grade): An externally assessed design-and-make assignment. Pupils develop, model, manufacture and evaluate a product, demonstrating creativity, technical skill and problem-solving.
