At Larbert High School, we are proud to place children’s rights at the heart of everything we do. As part of the UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Award, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where every young person is respected, nurtured and supported to thrive.
Our work is guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Children’s rights are not simply displayed; they are embedded in our relationships, curriculum, policies and daily practice. We work in partnership with staff, pupils and families to ensure rights are understood, promoted and realised across our whole school community.
The Rights Respecting journey challenges us to reflect and continually improve. It is not only about what young people do, but also about what adults do. We work together to create a culture where our pupils feel safe and valued, develop strong relationships, have a genuine voice in school life and grow in confidence. The impact extends beyond our school, empowering young people to become responsible, active citizens within their community and the wider world.
At Larbert High School, children’s rights underpin our vision of being United in Purpose. They are woven through our core values of being Ready, Respectful and Successful, shaping how we learn together, support one another and contribute positively to our community.
